As the successor to Pursuit, my goal for this record was to have a final product that was cleaner, heavier, and more musically direct. Having started as a compromise during the writing of a super conceptual record titled "Oasis", The Depths became my permanent occupation when I finally decided to bin the former around mid summer 2018. While this album is more intense and over an hour long, I feel like the end result is a rewarding experience which takes you through the story of two strangers brought together by misfortune via recurring rhythmic and melodic themes, and a pretty large variety of tracks which still manage to cover a lot of the bases that Pursuit put in place thematically.
